David C. Isom Ministries

​​Dr. David C. Isom is the proud Pastor of the St. Stephen CME Church, Fairfield, CA where he has been serving since 2007.  He is married to Stephanie Jean, a wonderfully gifted Christian woman and his help-meet. She serves as Special Advisor to the Board of Christian Education and is the Director of the Children’s Church. Rev. Isom is the son of (the late) Bishop D. I. Isom, Jr., (43rd Bishop elected to the CME Church) and Mrs. Esther L. Isom. 

Dr. Isom is currently in his fourth term on the Governing Board of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD), where he has served as President, President-Elect and Clerk.  FSUSD is the largest School District in Solano County with an average daily attendance of over 20,000 students. He has served on the Fairfield Police Department (FPD) Citizens Review Board, and as an Evaluator for the FPD Promotions Exam. 


Passionate about community involvement and social justice, Rev. Isom served as the Family Violence Prevention Officer for Solano County (District Attorney’s Office) and was Interim Executive Director of SafeQuest Solano, a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program and Shelter that has been serving victims and survivors of Intimate Partner Violence since 1987.


He served as a member of Solano County’s (CA) Strategic Planning Committee for the implementation of a Domestic Violence Coordinated Community Response Facility (CCR) in Fairfield, CA and for several years was responsible for training Staff Chaplains for the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center (CCR - Tacoma, WA) which addresses the needs of victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. He served for several years as Director of Faith Partners Against Family Violence of Associated Ministries-Tacoma/Pierce County, one of the largest Interfaith Ministries in the US.

His work includes developing and consulting with a wide variety of programs and he has conducted hundreds of presentations, workshops and in-service trainings and has provided technical resources and support to the Faith Community including, hundreds of congregations, Colleges and Universities, The District Attorney’s Office of Solano County, CA, The District Attorney’s Office of Dallas, TX, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Fairfield Police Department (CA), the Vacaville Police Department (CA), several national CME Church Conferences and many other venues.

Rev. Isom has been instrumental in the creation of numerous programs and the implementation of strategies that address Domestic Violence within the Faith Community. A Male Ally, Community Educator, Pastor, Chaplain, Administrator, Victim Advocate, Researcher and Licensed Counselor,
​Rev. Isom has extensively studied and continues to provide expert assistance to many Faith Communities across the US.
